Maybe this is just a mama thing, but I can't help but to just watch my sleeping baby. After months and months of quick cat naps throughout the day, Ruby has finally hit her stride. She now only takes two longer naps a day, and it's a total game changer. By ten o'clock I am so ready to lay her down and to get some things done.
Lately this active girl doesn't have time to eat. She waits until she's absolutely exhausted and I take her upstairs to her room and rock her. She has been falling asleep in my arms and it's one of the best feelings in this world. I completely forget about everything I needed to do and just melt a little.
For the sake of all of our sleep training, I try not to hold her too long. She knows when we she's heading to her crib, because she will roll over to her tummy in mid air. She always pulls her knees up so that her little bum is up in the air. Then she will tuck her arms underneath her and turn her head from side to side to find the most comfortable position. Once she's set, I'll put one of her knit blankets over top of her. And I can't help but to linger and soak up this peaceful scene.
I want to always remember this.
