Links I sent my husband

And... here's our third round of links I sent my husband. I'll be the first to admit that these links are definitely not as good as the following weeks. However, this is what I sent my husband. I need to start thinking about this during the week to up my game. But, for now I will just be real, and most likely that's what you're going to get in the future too.

I also wanted to say thanks again for all of the kind words this week from friends and family. Thanks for seeing all of the work I have been putting into this blog recently. Feel free to leave some comments on my posts here too, they're feeling kind of lonely. :)

She Reads Truth Lent - I did their study last year and loved it, and thinking about getting it in paper this year, even though it's a little pricy. The print it comes with may make it worth it. I also love that they have a mens version too.

Not sure what this is actually about, but Jordan loves The Office

I just sent Jordan this one last night, not sure if he's had time to watch it this morning, but it's hilarious. I love this couple and this song.

I'm pretty sure that I just showed Jordan some things about the big snow on the east coast while he was home. Although, we were mostly jealous and thought back to this big snow a couple years ago.

Jordan has both Saturday and Sunday off this weekend, so we are really excited. We will be attending a marriage conference at our church this weekend. Our friend's mother is visiting from Bolivia, so she's having us over for some authentic Bolivian food on Saturday. We also hope to find some time to go on a date as well this weekend. It's a packed weekend, but it will still feel great to see Jordan for more than just an hour.

I sent Jordan this photo from our trip to Bermuda today and he loved it, I think it's because of this long hair blowing in the wind. :) It's a little under exposed, but it's still fun. I may need to make one with the photos I edited in this post from Bermuda. I've been backing up photos on google photos and it has been making these fun animations itself! I haven't even needed to use a gif maker like I did last week

Psalm 100:3

I have been reading She Reads Truth's Psalms of Gratitude study with friends. And even though it's almost over I keep going back to the first day. This verse really resonated with me, so I wrote it out so that I don't have to keep looking it up.

I have always written out and doodled verses and words in my journals, bible, notes, any kind of paper really. I thought I was the only one, until the past few years I've noticed prints and such popping up all over the internet. I'm such an independent person and have always strived to be a little different (ok, so maybe that's just my excuse for being a little weird and awkward). I've realized that the internet and blogging world is a difficult place to be unique. There are so many big and tiny influences. Anyway, sorry for the tangent, my art history thesis in college was about if originality in the art world, and I think I will always continue struggling and writing that thesis in my head.

What I was trying to say is that I've always kept those doodles and such for myself and dear friends. I shared this with my friends I'm doing the study with, and decided it was time to share with you too. I see myself becoming more encouraged by those that are creating and making and ok with sharing interests and ideas alongside others. As I mentioned in my last post, this is starting to become a little place of community for me. This isn't my best work, and is far from perfect. If I knew that when I originally created this that I would be sharing it with you, I don't think that I would be writing this post today. I would keep redoing this until it was perfect and then you would probably never see it! So, hopefully we can start to become better friends, and I can start to be ok with sharing a little more of my imperfect progress.

So again, if you are reading, thank you for listening to these ramblings. Being an extroverted mama that's not around people all day can be hard at times. So, I am glad that I can be more of myself here and try not edit and apologize too much of my tangents and thoughts.

life update

links i sent my husband

I was surprised by how many people enjoyed my previous links I sent Jordan. I really appreciate all of the feedback I have been getting from my recent blogging ventures. Thank you for reading and stopping by, it's so affirming for me, especially as I navigate how to follow some of my passions.

This blog is definitely changing, and for the better. I've always viewed it as a way to share some of the photos I took of our adventures, but now it's becoming more of my outlet for community and creativity. There was this big creative void that leaving my job as an art teacher left. I'm so incredibly happy being a mama, but I do need to be around people and to make things. I didn't mean to go off on this tangent, but I really just wanted to say thank you for reading and for all of my friends who are encouraging me.

Well, here are some of the recent links I've sent my husband:

I look at my iphone when i can't sleep and it's a problem, especially when jordan is on nights. maybe this would help? jordan never responded to this, but I know what his answer would be. "put your phone down, get out of bed, and sit on the couch or read a book," he says every time I tell him I can't sleep.

We were really into making eggnog lattes with iced coffee around the holidays. So good.

sad one - Jordan would always choose to be Snape, even (especially) before we knew he was good.

Funny Ted Talk

I was debating whether or not to share this one. It's a little crude, but hilarious. It's the bad qualities of each Myers Briggs personality. Here are some of my favorites of ours in case you prefer not to read some bad language:

Spending time with an ENFP is difficult, considering not many have the patience to listen to their stupid ideas. Very common, these idiots are not ones to bother with being consistent in their statements, and arguing with them will be frustrating as they’ve forgotten the beginning of the issue once you’ve explained why they’re wrong about the tangent they brought up. The apt animal comparison would be “goldfish”. Nothing fazes them, and everything is interesting as long as it’s in sight.

Imagine an ant, a tiny little worthless animal who does exactly what its superiors say. That is an ISTJ, that is. That is an ISTJ, that is. They often switch between three expressions to maintain a notion of humanity but really, they cannot be counted as human. If you try to have a conversation with an ISTJ, you will be disappointed, for ISTJs do not have conversations. They recite scripture, or they tell you of their routine, or they argue with you, but they do not have conversations.

Can you guess which personality is me and which one is Jordan?
