Memorial Day Parade
Wednesday, June 01, 2016
It turned out to be a really fun Memorial Day. Jordan had the day off, not because it was a holiday, but because it was just one of his four days off this month. So, he worked long days all weekend.
We didn't make any plans for Memorial Day, thinking that we'd be too tired and not up for much. But, thankfully we have some fun friends that are up for a little spontaneity and the evening before decided to go to the local parade.
It was really hot, and the parade started like an hour late. But, it was fun. I also spilled a full cup of iced coffee on Ruby just as we were leaving (because the sidewalks in our town are the worst) She had on the cutest red and white romper (you can see it here), so we wiped her down with baby wipes and changed her outfit. She was still sticky, and so is her stroller. But, that didn't stop us from having a good time.
Ruby loved waving to everyone in the parade.
and eating all the candy wrappers off the candy. And we're loving these sandals for her!
Thankful for my airforce man who serves so selflessly. He didn't complain once about working this holiday weekend.
Ruby and her BFF
first sucker!! and it wasn't a complete disaster
Mama and her BFFS
some pretty hilarious attempts at a photo of all the kids
I'd call this a success
Tired. and covered in mama's iced coffee
All the feels for this family of mine. Everything in me wants to be miserable, because it's been a tough month with Jordan's schedule. But, I'm just too thankful.
and the spontaneity continued, later we invited our friends back over to our home to grill out and soak in the last of the day.
Thankful for these dear friends of ours, who are like family to us when ours is not close. And that they put up with us and all our crazy. And these three men and their service in the military. We are also so glad that we live in a country where so many have fought to protect us. And just look at these guys below:
Such great fathers too.
