Hoodoos | Grand Staircase National Monument | Utah

We were so close to Utah, and Jordan wanted to see the Grand Staircase, so we drove a little farther north to see if there were any good hikes. The Hoodoos, or toadstools was one of our favorite hikes this trip. It was definitely my kind of hike, short, interesting, and with a cool destination. 

Jordan and I visited Zion National Park the last time we were in this area, so we definitely have a thing for Utah. It's crazy beautiful.

Here's the start of the hike. It's a short maybe less than a mile to get to the hoodoos toadstools.

The hike to the hoodoos toadstools was so fun. You can see that the landscape changed over the course of the short hike. The Grand Staircase National Monument is such a neat area.

Jordan got a some good ones of me in front of the hoodoos too! or toadstools, whichever you prefer. Jordan definitely prefers hoodoos. 

Oh, Ruby. She didn't love this hike. It was very windy.

I just can't get enough of her crooked smile and those bottom teeth. Melt my heart. 

Can you believe that this photo was on this hike? This is the part right before you reach the hoodoos. I got this on our way back from seeing the toadstools. The Grand staircase national monument is seriously so cool. 

Here you can see where the sand blends into the red rock. The Grand Staircase is named for all of it's different layers, and it's neat to get a little glimpse of that here.

At the end of our hike she couldn't take it anymore and had to get out of the ergo. After the crazy wind over at the toadstools she didn't quite recover. So, mama carried her the rest of the way back. Thankfully it wasn't too far.
