So, thankfully Jordan has a super chill rotation this month, including one week off for our birthday week! I'm looking forward to some quality time with this little family of mine. May is my favorite month, which happens to include ALL of our birthdays. So, we will definitely be doing some celebrating all month long.

And I hope your ready for this next month, because you will be seeing a lot more of me. Or Ruby, I should say. I've already started to sort through ALL of her photos from this past year. I have big dreams to share them all on here before her birthday. (WHICH IS IN THREE WEEKS HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE)

This was waiting for us when we got back from vacation. Spring is my favorite time of year and I can't wait for it to be green again. We took advantage of the warm evening to take a walk to the library. 

the fall was so crazy that I didn't even think to plant daffodils or tulips, so I was so happy to see this little guy. He has quite a few friends joining him soon! Hopefully they have some tulips planted around here somewhere too. 

I purposely go down this street so I can walk by this yellow door every time.

It started to really feel like Spring last weekend, and I am hoping this colder weather will pass by soon. I've been pondering planting a garden this year.

Our back yard is covered in mostly shade, but there are a few spots that get a little love from the sun. Mint still managed to grow well and is already growing back.

Do you know of any other shade tolerant herbs, vegetables or such? 

Are you excited it's Spring?! I can't believe it's really here. 

i think i have mentioned before that my favorite thing about our new place is our little garden. every day, i check on it, water my plants, pull weeds and see what has changed since the last time i went outside. sometime i just stare amazed that i planted a seed, or a tiny plant and now it's producing these beautiful flowers, and now... tomatoes! sage was already planted in our garden when we got there and in the second weekend we were here, it grew so big and had these beautiful blooms. one sunday morning before church i went out and picked a big handful, harvested the sage and put the blooms in a jar. even jordan commented on the wonderful scent they gave. i think for now on i will always have sage in my garden.

some flowers from my valentine, that are a little wilted. but, i still find them beautiful...
