i have so many photos to show you, but i don't want to get up from the couch and edit them right now. it's been an exhausting couple of weeks. during my spring break, we moved into the new elementary school that was getting renovated. i would still be swimming in boxes if it wasn't for my friends and family coming to help me. since then we've had an open house, i've been planning new lessons, putting up new displays... and it's all finally coming together. so, hopefully you will see more updates on here soon! i'll have even more time soon, because we're also moving to indy next weekend!! i cannot wait for this long commute to end, it's starting to get really old. and driving in these crazy thunderstorms all week... yikes!

even through this crazy time, i have been enjoying spring, in and out of the classroom. even right now i'm enjoying a thunderstorm (safely inside my home) and i am looking forward to a whole bunch of things... a garden, our birthdays, a possible trip, and summer. looking forward is what is going to get me through next week. for now, happy friday eve!

this one immediately come to mind when i begin thinking about how cold it is outside. we went on this trip in the middle of march and it was eighty degrees the entire time! it was maybe the best thing that has ever happened to us. people thought we were crazy when we planned this a couple months before hand. it doesn't seem like the best spring break destination, but we even got to go to the beach... in march... in chicago. awesome. so, come on spring, it's april already!

the first night we were there we went to the second city, a comedy club which was so much fun!

we were all about public transportation on this trip, i was so impressed by jordan and his ability to figure out the complicated maps so easily. if ever you are wanting to navigate a big city, he's the guy to call.

we went to the lincoln park zoo one day, which i definitely suggest to go if you're in chicago, it's free! so why not? that's what we thought. it was a lot of fun, plus you can see the best view of the city.

with the weather being so nice, we couldn't resist spending an afternoon enjoying the oak street beach. although we didn't think about entering the frigid lake michigan. but, i was just pinching myself as i soaked in the sun.

we couldn't pass up a visit to the leggo store! we might have spent a little too much time there building, that we had to unwillingly leave as they started closing.

and, hello april!

these flowers are sticking around. spring break for me is so soon, all that stands in my way is grading, a project and packing (did i tell you we're moving schools?) and a few more days of course. this week is going to be tough, but spring's arrival is helping me through it. (as well as the cookie cake i bought on sale this week)
oh, & come back tomorrow for a new playlist, i have one just for spring's arrival!

we celebrated our little niece's first birthday this past weekend. i captured some photos of our gift before we left. it looked so much like spring, i couldn't help but share it. i love wrapping gifts so much that jordan often makes fun of how much care i put into them. i just use what i have on hand, luckily i had some of this beautiful teal tissue paper. definitely prettier than the typical brown bag paper i usually use.
