one of the days of our advent calendar was to grab coffee walk around downtown bloomington, the heart of the downtown, 'the square', is beautifully dressed in lights for the season. i love how they wrap each branch of the trees, don't they look almost magical? be prepared, these photos were taken on my phone... but they still capture this evening well.

it was a fun evening of chinese checkers, coffee, and lights. if you ever are wanting to check out bloomington this blog has a great guide on bloomington. (also my mother just sent me her photos from christmas, and our tree is still up... so we will still be celebrating over here!)

here are some more photos from the hike we did in colorado, more photos in this post. it was a great hike because we started at a higher elevation, so the views were great and we didn't have to work too hard to get there. it was very beautiful. the best part of the hike i will share soon, where we stumbled upon this beautiful meadow, which is where this photo was taken. get excited. but, for now enjoy these photos...
we found this old cabin in the middle of our hike, in the middle of a meadow.

weekend trip to louisville, staying at the historic brown hotel. celebrating after a long exam week for jordan.

downtown louisville, can't wait to visit again

our springbreak trip to chicago (in march) turned out to be a sunny get away, with temperatures in the eighties the entire time. got to kick back in shorts and t-shirts on the lake.

we were so pleasantly surprised by the weather it made our trip a blast.

we ran in the indy mini-marathon in may

my family at the great american ballpark

an absolutely beautiful trip to bermuda, i need to post more photos from the trip sometime.

celebrated our anniversary in augusta, ky

enjoying the farmer's market in bloomington

new tradition of falafel mondays!

can you tell that it was a little windy up there?!

oh, just hanging out on the web in our own home. jordan is downstairs studying and i'm upstairs working on my portfolio. we're a little weird. i think it's funny how serious we look. it's still going on as i write this, and i can just look over and see jordan chomping on his gum and occasionally blink. haha

i had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time with these women over holiday. being away from college life, roommates and constant hangouts, is so different. it was so easy to make friends, and good friends, and to spend quality time with people. i am realizing now, that was kind of a one time thing. (not that i don't have great friends here in btown-- you guys are great!) it just takes a little more work, and the memories that i have with this group of girls, i hold on to.
so, here's to eating apple crisp for breakfast, making cookies at night (most nights), being pulled from a sled on the back of a truck in a snowy parking lot, making black-out poems, playing in the rain on warm summer nights, many dinners and watching the sunset on the room outside my bedroom window, camping on a beach for a week (twice!), watching movies on a sheet hung from the roof with a projector, drinking wine from mugs, our clive staples and co. book club, and reading out loud the chronicles of narnia every sunday in the warm summer sun, and there are so many more.
i will remember those things forever
