i mentioned in my last post that natalie and ian visited for the weekend. ian made us butternut squash risotto and it was delicious. he took over the kitchen and did all of the cooking, thanks again ian! i've never made risotto because it seems so intimidating, but it was so good i might have to give this recipe a try. afterward we grabbed frozen yogurt in fountain square.
my cousin, natalie and her husband visited for the weekend before their big move to illinois. we went to bru burger bar for dinner. during the wait we walked down mass ave. visiting the toy and gift shops. the food was definitely not my first choice (vegetarians and burgers don't mix well) but, i am glad everyone enjoyed it. jordan might have been waiting for the opportunity to have visitors to take here. it was fun to get to hang out with natalie and ian. & i have some more photos from their visit to share! & jordan's little brother, ben came up from btown for dinner too!
thanks for visiting, natalie and ian!
we went to la chinita poblana the other day, an asian inspired mexican restaurant in broad ripple near the monon. we had been wanting to go there ever since we saw their sweet potato side in the indianapolis monthly. we are glad we went, it was delicious. jordan had some tacos and i got the best bubble tea i've ever had. really, it was that good. and i love bubble tea, am i right brittany thurman?
they use fresh fruit in their bubble tea, which almost makes it like a smoothie, it was very fresh. i had mango, honeydew and pineapple. yum. you even have the option to include jellies, so i added mango jellies along with the boba. best decision.
we picked a spot along the monon and ate our dinner. jordan loves mexican and asian food, so between the combo of the two, i'm not sure he could even handle it. i for one loved that i could get mole and cream covered sweet potatoes and boba tea at the same time.
we can't wait to try out the other things on the menu, i for one will still be getting the sweet potatoes and bubble tea, but i might throw a taco in there too. i spotted a tofu taco on the menu i wanted to try. if you're in the indy area, you definitely need to try this one out! we were able to talk to the wife of the creator of this awesome idea of a restaurant, and they seemed very passionate and really enjoyed what they were doing. i love when people love food as much as i do.
