Mariners Game in Seattle

Our first evening in Seattle was spent at the Seattle Mariners baseball game. It was a perfect evening and I could not get enough of the views from the stadium. we had a great time catching up with the Sonoffs and goofing off in our sweet Mariners socks.

Seattle

This summer Jordan and I had the opportunity to visit the west coast. Jordan had a rotation in California for the month of July. We decided to take advantage of it and see as much as we could. Our Bloomington friends, Ashley and Kevin moved to Seattle the same time we moved to Indy. We couldn't possibly fly all the way over the country without stopping by and saying hello all while getting the best tour of their city.

Out of all of our flights and layovers, which were many, Jordan and I only shared one. I was in Seattle for an entire afternoon before Jordan arrived. My dear friend Ashley was so sweet and packed us a lunch to eat at a park overlooking the skyline. It was great to have that time to catch up and just rest all while taking in these spectacular views. So, so thankful for the Sonoffs and how awesome our trip was because of them.

Someone spelled 'Breathe' with ribbon in the fence, see it?

A beautiful city! Wishing I was back there today, and mostly so that I would know that this would be the only day that was this beautiful on our trip. Rainy Seattle, I still like you too.

The Happy Berry

While we were visiting Jordan's parents in South Carolina we stopped by the cutest berry farm. We spent the morning picking and eating blackberries and blueberries. We spent the rest of the week there eating handfuls and throwing them into the crepes we were perfecting. We're so glad that we have this beautiful place that we can visit and explore time and time again.

It was so hard to resist eating the berries!! We had to do several tests to make sure we were picking the ripest ones.

life update

Summer Living

Jordan and I have been back from our summer travels for a couple weeks now. We had to adjust quickly back to work and home life. I am finding time now to look over and edit photos and it feels like a dream. I hardly remember spending this weekend in Kentucky or our trip to South Carolina. This is a summer I know we will always talk about. I am excited to share with you the photos I took as we explored this beautiful country.

Indianapolis Butterfly Garden

This was my first time visiting the butterfly garden that is connected to the Indianapolis Zoo. It was filled with beautiful plants and butterflies. We love to spend any time we can with these kiddos and enjoyed some quality time at the zoo as well.

life update

world cup

Jordan has been gearing up for the world cup. He got the USA jersey this week and has yet to take it off. He has even done some decorating in the house. I think Jordan finds more use for my washi tape collection than I do. I have always been slightly interested in the world cup, but jordan's excitement is a little contagious. He is even wanting me to get my own US jersey.

Summer Living

As a teacher I have the summer off and it's been officially summer for me now for one week. I am not ashamed in the least to admit that this is what my life has looked like for most of it, relaxing. The end of the school year was hard on me. I was was sick for several weeks and broke out in hives for a couple weeks after having some sort of viral infection. On top of all of that I was finishing end of school stuff, my normal teaching duties, coaching track, planning the school's banquet, and an art show. I am not a person who likes to be busy, in fact I keep a calendar only out of necessity. So, it was very draining. Needless to say, my body and mind are enjoying a vacation.

Now that I've had a week to decompress, it's time to accomplish some things before we head out on a few adventures. My thought is that hopefully if I share this, then I will do it. So here goes nothing:

Before Summer Adventures begin:
Clean House (Really clean, & Organize too!)
Organize My Closet (This needs it's own line)
Try my best to pack LIGHTLY for our trips - this is a very difficult task for me.
Finish redesigning blog (Did you notice the change? - it might be a little crazy around here)
Plan some of our time in the San Francisco area - any suggestions?

Hopefully that will do the trick. Let me know if you have any tips on San Francisco or packing lightly!

For my 25th birthday Jordan took me to dinner at Libertine in downtown Indy. They are known for their fun cocktails, we enjoyed scouring the menu for the perfect one. In true kaytea fashion I ordered a cocktail off the menu, Rabbit's Foot. After dinner we went to the beautiful Indiana Repertory Theatre. We saw The Game's Afoot, a humorous Sherlock Holmes kind of play. We were laughing the entire time - nice choice, Jordan. And below are some of the fun things that my students and coworkers did to celebrate my birthday. Everyone did such a great job of making me feel loved.
