i mentioned in my last post that natalie and ian visited for the weekend. ian made us butternut squash risotto and it was delicious. he took over the kitchen and did all of the cooking, thanks again ian! i've never made risotto because it seems so intimidating, but it was so good i might have to give this recipe a try. afterward we grabbed frozen yogurt in fountain square.
my cousin, natalie and her husband visited for the weekend before their big move to illinois. we went to bru burger bar for dinner. during the wait we walked down mass ave. visiting the toy and gift shops. the food was definitely not my first choice (vegetarians and burgers don't mix well) but, i am glad everyone enjoyed it. jordan might have been waiting for the opportunity to have visitors to take here. it was fun to get to hang out with natalie and ian. & i have some more photos from their visit to share! & jordan's little brother, ben came up from btown for dinner too!
thanks for visiting, natalie and ian!
i am back from my trip to the garden state and the big apple. in high school i visited new york for a day, and loved the city. it was full of energy and excitement. this time it was great to visit with good friends who knew where to go and how to enjoy the city casually and to really explore. this photo is taken in hoboken looking at the city over the hudson river. i'll be back soon with more photos!
a new playlist for summer, now that it's really summer and not just the anticipation of summer. i already have another in the works, so i am going to make this a little series of summer playlists, and things that i think define summer, like bike rides. so, enjoy this mix! and hopefully i will have another one next week, i am trying to get it together before i leave for new york this week! you can play the music below or go directly to the mix on 8tracks.
i've loved the slowness of summer, taking the time to collect fresh herbs from the garden and soon veggies, and having the time to love jordan through food, making him lunch and dinner. and then being able to take the time to take photographs of the little things (i'm getting better) and enjoying it, pouring a glass of wine and sitting and relaxing after dinner. it's july now, one entire month left before the start of the school year the first of august. (i will be working at a new school, i'm very excited and will share details soon!)
