i am so behind on posting my photos, i still have thousands (i wish that wasn't literal) from new york. now that i've settled into a routine at school, hopefully i can share some more from time to time. i still want to do them justice, even if it's our beverage choices for brunch. this evening i was thinking about this group. i'm going to miss these goons this year, especially on our free nights. jordan and i watched a movie tonight, and it wasn't the same being the only one bugging jordan with all my questions. it was a good thing dana was there there, our canadian/irish houseguest for the month, to make the transition easier.
jordan gets better at photography everyday
here's a life update for you:
i can't believe it's already august and this summer is coming to a close. this is my last day of waking up when i wake up, of eating cookies for breakfast, of taking my time to water and survey my garden. it's my last day of waiting anxiously for jordan to arrive home. and to feel okay that my biggest accomplishment this summer was finishing the gossip girl series (still a little embarrassed about that one). okay okay, i may have done other things... along with watching gossip girl, my other accomplishments this summer are: our garden. hands down. picking up a paint brush. getting a new job, that i like! decorating our house and then redecorating. taking a trip to the big apple. surviving jordan's first rotation. organizing our filing cabinet. joining crossfit. and that the manager at madewell knows my name.:) all in all, i am so thankful for this summer, i keep looking back at how we ended up in such a great house and an awesome city.
but, to be honest i'm a little excited for fall's arrival. with the weather being on the cooler side, i remember what it feels like to grab a jacket or put on a few layers. i'm also looking forward to teaching. this summer i was blessed to be given an opportunity to teach middles school and high school art at a christian school close by. it's really a dream come true and i still cannot believe that it's true. hopefully i'll share a little more of my art projects on this space this year. jordan and i are hosting a med students from ireland at our house this month, so that should be interesting! we're also committed to crossfit for three months. we both really enjoy it and the community at the gym, anyone want to start a bet on how many pull-ups i'll be able to do by october? i'm at 0 now, my goal is 10!
so, here's to you august!

after our trip to the bronx zoo we headed over to hoboken, new jersey. we walked by carlo's bake shop and soaked in the great view of the new york city skyline from over the river. we had dinner right across from it at little town, we were all so grumpy from the heat, that we had a marathon lunch/dinner, just enjoying sitting down and drinking lots of water. if you ever are wanting to visit nyc, summer is not the best time. there is just no good way to escape the heat. these are my favorite photos from the trip, so i hope you enjoyed them.

time is going by so fast, it was just last year when i started this blog when jordan was away at officer's training. and two years of marriage. i am just happy that jordan is here to celebrate with. we don't have much planned today, we joined a crossfit gym and will be going there and then to dinner. we're thinking of doing something fun this weekend, we're thinking a state park? any suggestions?
jordan and i had dinner at three wise men after my trip to new york. it was so much better than we were expecting. we were familiar with their other restaurant scotty's which we had in bloomington and liked, but it wasn't a favorite. we loved three wise men, between the popcorn, the pizza dough and great service, it was all great. since then we've already been back to grab pizza and beer.
i can't believe that i'm only on the second day of our trip! i have so many more photos to edit and share.
well, on our second day we went to the bronx zoo, hoping that it would be a little cooler beneath all of the trees. it was just hot. it was so hot that we were sweating while sitting in the shade. at one point i wish i was swimming with that polar bear (he looks like he's having the time of his life). we spent most of our time watching the handsome guy. we still enjoyed our trip and made the most of it. it was a beautiful zoo.
