oh, just hanging out on the web in our own home. jordan is downstairs studying and i'm upstairs working on my portfolio. we're a little weird. i think it's funny how serious we look. it's still going on as i write this, and i can just look over and see jordan chomping on his gum and occasionally blink. haha
i had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time with these women over holiday. being away from college life, roommates and constant hangouts, is so different. it was so easy to make friends, and good friends, and to spend quality time with people. i am realizing now, that was kind of a one time thing. (not that i don't have great friends here in btown-- you guys are great!) it just takes a little more work, and the memories that i have with this group of girls, i hold on to.
so, here's to eating apple crisp for breakfast, making cookies at night (most nights), being pulled from a sled on the back of a truck in a snowy parking lot, making black-out poems, playing in the rain on warm summer nights, many dinners and watching the sunset on the room outside my bedroom window, camping on a beach for a week (twice!), watching movies on a sheet hung from the roof with a projector, drinking wine from mugs, our clive staples and co. book club, and reading out loud the chronicles of narnia every sunday in the warm summer sun, and there are so many more.
i will remember those things forever
this was so easy and simple, i'm a little mad at myself that i haven't made it sooner. well, maybe it's because we just got a cast iron skillet for christmas and what way to break it in than to make a big cookie? there is absolutely no better way. all you have to do is get some cookie dough and smash it down, no need to cover every part, just most and it will spread out. i made mine relatively thin to feel a tiny bit better for eating it for breakfast (yes, breakfast). i baked mine around 15 minutes and it was perfect. then top it with ice cream, grab some spoons and share. voila.
this also is probably the reason jordan and i got a juicer, and are planning on going on a juice fast next week. so i will have to share about that, it will be adventure for sure. i also signed up for another half-marathon! which reminds me that i haven't shared about the one we ran this fall.. i'll find those photos and post them soon. so, this might be the last time you will see something like this on here for a while.
top photo: my future sister-in-law, chelsey
second couple: my sweet parents
third couple: my cousin natalie and her husband ian
and then jordan and i (which nat took) the bottom one would be a good idea for an engagement photo!
my mom always has these crazy awkward ideas for pictures... and pinterest hasn't helped us any. so this was her idea, and i thought some of the photos did turn out kind of cute and not too terribly cheesy. :)
i have been editing photos like crazy! and will be posting photos from my adventure to colorado this week or next week. i had to share this one, because i miss this field and jen. i hope to visit you again soon, jen! and bring jordan with me! hopefully this good start means this year i will be better at editing, updating and sharing my photos. i'm not so keen on calling that a resolution yet, though. i thought about resolving to do things with the new year, but since i'm already three days in i might just wait until later. i find the spring is a better time for those kind of things.
i love these photos of our spontaneous snow fight. i felt like a little kid, and i know jordan did too, when we were at my parent's house and received all this snow. we immediately suited up and went outside and began playing. i was so cold by the end of it. i think that was mostly because jordan had thrown a snowball right at my face, if you look closely at the photos you can see just after it happened and when i looked so sad, and also just after jordan allowed me to revenge myself by putting snow in his face. and that's my little brother brandon in these photos! oh, and that first picture you will see our pathetic excuse for a snowman.
i couldn't help but to stop and take a photo of these snow covered trees.
here's to hoping the snow sticks around.
