i am not ashamed to say that our house has been decorated since early november. since we're typically not home for the holidays we take advantage of enjoying the warmth and joy of holiday decorations for as long as we can. in fact, it was jordan who wanted to set up the tree and we listened to christmas music, "watched" a roaring fire from our computer screen and lit all the candles. i'm an advocate for decorating early for christmas and an advocate on snow in the ground in november and december and not in february and march. i am excited for a break this friday. and time to just be with my husband. here's to finishing everything off my to do list by friday, so that we can have a restful two weeks! cheers!
bakersfield is our favorite place for tacos. they are the best (but, jordan would say that i say that about everything)
i took these photos early this past summer when i first got my 35mm in the mail, (which explains the selfie) before then i just had a 50mm and it was difficult to shoot indoor spaces, i began taking many many photos of our home. it wasn't entirely clean and decorated at the time, so i meant to go back and take photos later, but i never did. i thought i'd share these for now, because it looks entirely different with our holiday decorations up. i'll share those soon too!
we love everything about this house we're renting now, the tall white walls and wood floors. the detail has actually stopped me from hanging things on every square inch of wall like i did in our other places.
jordan and i had the chance to visit good friends at our old home in oxford, ohio. jordan and i met at miami university, we spent a lot of time hanging around those fountains. it was the first time we had a proper visit since we graduated over two years ago. it didn't seem that long ago, until we saw all the change. we walked through new buildings and students that i knew in high school were showing me around.
^^this is where jordan would pretend to be studying or eating lunch at those benches to the right. he would casually be there right after my sculpture class in heistand ended (the building to the right). i can still vividly recall the time he asked if i wanted to walk with him to class and asked me to go on our first date in front of the chemistry building. (i knew he liked me because i was in a old tshirt and covered head-to-toe in plaster from class)
^^there's the art building!
it was also a big treat to be able to see nicki, my best friend from college. we happened to be visiting the same weekend and it was a sweet sweet coincidence. she made our trip so much more nostalgic being there.
and it was wonderfully strange seeing my iu friend, kelsey at miami. i am so glad that she's sticking around the midwest.
